WELCOME TO COSME SHELTIES.
WE ARE BREEDERS OF SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS OR SHELTIES LOCATED JUST WEST OF HOUSTON, TEXAS.
WE HAVE OWNED SHELTIES FOR OVER 18 YEARS. WE SHOW OUR DOGS IN CONFORMATION AND BREED FOR QUALITY, TEMPERAMENT AND SOUNDNESS.
Our history
Cosme Shelties is a small hobby kennel located in Katy, Texas, just west of Houston. We have owned Shelties for over 15 years. We have shown our dogs in Conformation since 2009, shortly after purchasing Allusion High Impact (Zoey).
Our dogs live in our home with us and are part of our family. Our goal is to show and to occasionally breed healthy, beautiful, quality Shelties (Shetland Sheepdogs) that conform to the breed standards.
Our goal is to see that our puppies have good homes. We also want you to be happy with the dog you have purchased. That is why we try harder and have a more generous return/refund policy than most breeders. If for any reason you can no longer take care of the Sheltie you purchase from us, we will take it back and provide for it until we can place it in a new home. Why us
We believe that our dogs’ health and a puppy’s health is very important. Although health issues are not common in Shelties, we do test our dogs. Our star female, Allusion High Impact, as well as Cosme Sterling Silver is in the Canine Heath Information Center (CHIC) database.
Cosme Shelties is a member of the AKC’s BRED with H.E.A.R.T program. (Health, Education, Accountability, Responsibility and Tradition) For additional information on the BRED with H.E.A.R.T. program, please visit the AKC website here!
Our priorities in breeding are:
- Health – our highest priority is to breed healthy dogs.
- Temperament – You must breed good tempered dogs to have a dog with good temperament.
- Showmanship – Strength, outgoing personality and brave.
- Size – 13 – 16 inches.
Peace of Mind and Value - What we provide with our puppies
All of our pet/companion puppies come with contract, health guarantee, AKC limited registration, current shots and we microchip all of our dogs. You are welcome to visit our puppies after the reach 3 weeks of age; however, we never release a puppy to their new home until they are at least 8 weeks old.
When you purchase a puppy from us, you get the following:
- Contract and sales agreement.
- Health Guarantee.
- AKC Limited Registration (Pet/Companion puppies)
- Current Shot(s)
- Microchip (We use ISO 134.2 kHz, 15-digit microchips)
- 10 day refund policy (for any reason). We want you to be happy with your puppy and our puppies to be in the best possible homes.
- Finally, if you need to leave town for a day or two, we will watch your puppy or dog at no cost (if we are available). We are always happy for our puppies to return for a visit. If you need us to watch the dog for a longer period, we will try to accommodate your request at a very reasonable rate.
